She's 47, and that's just one side of her!

A child-care worker sharing the same name as Susan Boyle has been banned from Facebook. The social networking website thought the 23 year old is pretending to be the Britain’s Got Talent runner up.

Susan (the one who got banned from Facebook) said:

I can’t believe they have done this. My Facebook site was something personal that I really liked using and now they have taken it away from me. Their actions are just stupid as I am obviously not pretending to be anyone. Surely they have come across two people with the same name before?

The global sensation is a brunette, where as Susan is a tall redhead, as shown by her profile picture on Facebook.

However, the website demand that she emails them a copy of her birth certificate, driving license or passport to prove that she shares the same name as the 48 year old.

Susan added:

You only have to look at my profile page and it is obvious I am just someone who happens to have the same name. I do miss not being able to access my friends’ new photographs and updates but it’s a point of principle. I am not going to send my personal documents through to them.

Susan is set to get married in 2011, when she can change her name to Brown.

It’s recently been reported in the media that many fans of Susan Boyle have decided to register domain names such as susanboyle.co.uk, susanboyle.com, etc in the hope to strike private deals with Susan officials so that they can cash in.

I’d like to make it clear that cybersquatting was not the aim of setting up this website. The goal was to provide fans with information and updates on Susan Boyle in a simple and minimalistic way which is easy to understand. The only revenue I earn from this is advertising and the t-shirt selling (which, by the way, wasn’t my idea).

Besides, which official company would want susanboyle-bgt.co.uk as their website address? None, I would imagine. Even after registering the domain, I was soon embarrased by the extra “-bgt” on the end and people even criticised it. However, saying that, any official company willing to buy this off me, I would gladly make some kind of deal – but that is not what I’ve set out to do.

Even so, this site is slowly drawing to a close. It’s not updated much anymore, so we’ll see what happens.

Adios.
