She's 47, and that's just one side of her!

Even though Susan Boyle did not appear at the CIA last night, it was still an amazing evening. Long queues stretched outside the arena, with people selling cheap unofficial merchandise.

DJ Talent opened the show, followed by Stephen Mulhern coming on stage dancing. Alot of acts then performed the songs they did at the first auditions, then a few surprises occured.

The two youngsters from Diversity, Shaheen Jafargholi, and Aiden Davies colourfully performed together. Flawless, Darth Jackson and Stavros Flatley briefly danced together. George Sampson danced with Flawless. Shaun Smith and Julian Smith did a duet together. 2 Grand and Hollie Steel also sang.

Jamie Pugh, pizza delivery man and warehouse worker with stage fright who appeared in the semi finals was in the audience. Managed to get a photo with him:

Recognise me? Get in touch. I was wearing glasses.

Noel Sullivan from the band Hearsay was in the audience, too. He was sat right in front of me (as seen from the below video).

I barely took any photos, but I did alot of videos (despite signs up saying “No photography”). People were being asked to stop and that photography wasn’t allowed, but Stephen Mulhern at one point asked if anyone had a camera, so George Sampson and Aiden Davies could have a photo with a girl – a form of encouragement. The 17 minute long video can be seen below:

Keypoints in the video:

  • 1:38 – Diversity
  • 3:25 – Stavros Flatley
  • 4:43 – Flawless and George Sampson
  • 5:08 – George Sampson
  • 5:29 – Lauren meeting George and Aiden
  • 6:29 – 2 Grand and Hollie Steel
  • 6:40 – Perri Luc Kiely, Mitchell Craske, Aiden Davies & Shaheen Jafargholi
  • 7:20 – Noel Sullivan
  • 7:27 – Darth Jackson and *cough* “storm troopers”
  • 9:32 – Diversity Finale

Overall, it was a great evening. Despite someone trying to bluetooth me something during the interval, and the fact it got very hot alongside screaming girls towards our right and behind us because George Sampson was on stage, it was fantastic.

Me coming from Newport in South Wales is going to Cardiff tonight in the hope to see Susan Boyle and all other acts perform.

Scottish singing sensation pulled out of Liverpool last night after being too tired. However, rumours are that she didn’t perform because she wanted to be with her cat. Fans arrived and were told she was not going to perform.

She returned to her London rented flat instead of performing in Liverpool.

A spokeswoman said:

Susan’s just tired. She has gone for a sleep and a bit of rest

Just got off the BBC website that Susan Boyle will NOT be appearing in Cardiff tonight. I for one am bitterly dissapointed! See the news article here.

If anyone is going to Cardiff tonight, please email me! It would be nice to talk to someone about the performances, and I will update this tomorrow.

After rocking Birmingham, Susan has been too tired and took the day off in a mutual decision.

A tour insider says:

There is nothing sinister going on. It’s been very much one step at a time.

Susan was meant to sing in two performances at the MEN arena in Manchester on the tour’s third day. A spokesman said:

She sends her sincere apologies to her fans for not appearing.

For about a week, no one knew whether Susan Boyle would perform at the opener of the Britain’s Got Talent live tour – but she did. However, it’s still unsure which ones she’ll appear at.

During her performances of Memory from Cats, and I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables, she blew kisses to fans. Susan, who was wearing her floor-length glittering dress which she wore in the final, was given a standing ovation after and replaced her trademark jig with a more dignified bow.

You can see more pictures of Susan and other stars at Zoe Griffin’s Blog. Also, if you’re visiting Cardiff CIA on the 19th June, then get in touch as I am going there too – let’s hope Susan is there!
